“Castro” means Castle in Latin and is inspired by the old compositions of the ancient castles, brimful of History.
The Castro Series was particularly inspired by Örebro Slott, a castle surrounded by the deluge Black River, shielding the castle built with solid rocks and the architecture designed to defend the cavalry.
One unsolved historical mystery is the fact that nobody really knows how old the castle is.
The details of this piece is reflected by the black river, the castle rocks and ancient precious metal decorations that the castle once held. It holds endless mysteries and details that can't get passed unnoticed.
Meaning Luminous in Latin. A natural phenomena that struck me every time with its strong light and loud noise that can be observed miles away. Not only does something as abstract as thunder and lightning make everyone aware of its attendance. In a mysterious way, this almost vacant mass of plasma leaves great scars on the ground as a sign that it’s presence was physical and real.
Air so hot it’s Luminous.
The details on this piece are endless and can't get passed unnoticed with it's depth and pure golden cracks.
Glacies is the Latin word for Glacier. “Glacies” reflects the beauty of our planet’s huge glaciers, reserving 69% of our freshwater. 22% of the glaciers has melted since 1994, and the fact that the beautiful ice blocks one day might fully melt away truly pains me. The main reason why I decided to paint what still remains of the glaciers is to remember a big part of our nature that one day might vanish.
Apart from its importance for our nature it possesses an incredible beauty that deserves being remembered forever. The details on this piece is endless and can't get passed unnoticed.
The golden rings weaving in to eachother reminds me tof how everything we know of is woven, one way or another. Layered dimensions, parallel universes or bridge-connected galaxies. "Concarcio means "weave" in latin and brings the induvidual meanings altogether. Simplicity is the key but behind every simple truth lays a tangled reality. Just like the layered woven rings.
Fluxus Aureus means Golden Flow in Latin and was inpired by the decorative bright islands in the sea Aylin once saw from the airplain window on her way to Spain. The reflections of the clouds and the morning sun made the sea seem pale and sage-like. The drizzling sea water touching the island-edges shimmered in bright gold and became the foundation of the golden-edged series.
This edition is a physical manifestation of Aylins memories of the Spanish Islands she once saw from the sky.
